What The Parents Are Saying
"I cannot say enough good things about Unicorn Haven. My son is 6 and is non-verbal. He really struggles in social situations and uses an AAC device to communicate. Unicorn Haven was very flexible and understanding about our situation. They worked hard to make sure they found the right class for him, one that he would thrive in. Sitting outside the room I enjoyed listening to the teacher constantly touch base with him and include him in the activities. He always left the class with a smile on his face and I know that he is getting a lot out of it."

"Our son has been attending a social thinking class at Unicorn Haven. Each week he comes home and is able to articulate a great lesson that he has learned. He's learned this social lesson in a fun hands-on way that he is able to apply it and use it. We've really seen changes in him, stopping and thinking before acting. We are really excited about Unicorn Haven and what they offer our son."

"This was my son's first exposure to both a social skills group, as well as an acting class, which culminated in a performance. ___ quickly memorized his several lines, and was able to get the hang of when to recite his lines, as well as how loudly to say his lines. (There were other actors who had auditory sensitivity, so it was very beneficial for (my son) to understand this about working with others toward a shared goal.) ___ took direction well from the acting coaches, Cher and Barbora. ___ learned more about the concepts of expected and unexpected behavior, which is extremely important for him. His overall ability to possess flexible thinking has greatly improved in the last several months, and the practice sessions and play provided great opportunities for him to increase those skills. We also met some great new friends through this activity which is a huge blessing! We are planning on organizing some play dates later this winter. We are tremendously appreciative of the scholarship money that was generously donated to us so that our son could participate in Unicorn Haven's Social Acting class! Their cute little performance was one of our best moments for the whole year! All the kids did a wonderful job, and I loved that my son got to participate in this. He was so proud of himself, and even asked the very next day to go back to acting class! Thank you, thank you, thank you!" - Social Acting Class Parent
