In 2015, Barbora’s daughter was diagnosed with ADHD, Autism and a Mood Disorder. Barbora went on to work as a behavioral health case manager, in order to have more flexible hours. Barbora thrived in this position, advocating at IEP meetings, guiding newly diagnosed clients through the DDD and ALTCS process, teaching social skills groups and parent support groups. In 2020, Barbora was accepted into the Social Thinking® Intensive Clinical Training Program which is currently postponed due to COVID-19. https://www.socialthinking.com/Clinics/Clinical-Trainee-Directory If you would like Barbora to speak at your event or provide training for your school/organization please email us for rates and availability. Unicorn Haven LLC was established in December 2017 after seeing the needs in the community. The unique name comes from her daughter’s love for unicorns and Barbora wanting a safe place for children and adults with social challenges. The other reason unicorns are so significant to us is because they are magical and mysterious creatures – much like the individuals we serve. Unicorn Haven was established to recognize and support the struggles special needs parents and caregivers have. We are here to advocate for your child at their school meeting, to support you and your needs when you need someone who has been through the same experiences, to listen. We provide social skills groups using the most effective methodologies to improve the student’s functioning. |
