Student Requirements:  Students need solid language skills ​(using language to learn, as opposed to still learning language).
Ability to participate in a virtual group setting.

Social Me - Younger Group (Recommended ages 7 - 9) 
October 17 - December 12, 2020 (No class on November 28th)

This class meets virtually on ZOOM
Saturdays from 10:30 to 11:30 AM

This class will be expanding on the knowledge from Social Heroes and incorporating them into the Social Me curriculum. We will learn the concepts of expected vs unexpected behavior, size of a problem vs size of the reaction, joining a group, staying in the group, being flexible, thinking about others, hidden rules and gain a deeper understanding on how to apply them in different situations.

Social Me - Older Group  (Recommended Ages 10 - 13)
October 15 - December 10, 2020 (No class on Thanksgiving, November 26th)       

This class meets virtually on ZOOM
​Thursdays from 5 to 6 PM​

This class is a powerhouse of social knowledge to help children in elementary and middle school transition into the more socially-complex and socially-demanding grades and become stronger social problem solvers. Drawing from Social Thinking and Me (Winner, 2016), students will practice thinking about hidden rules and expected behavior in order to better navigate social opportunities in school, home, and community settings.

Socializers (*Recommended Age 11 - 14)
October 17 - December 12, 2020 (No class on November 28th) 
This class meets virtually on Zoom 
Saturdays from 9:00 - 10 AM ​

​
Combining CBT techniques, confidence building, and Social ThinkingⓇ students will be challenged to infer and explain social expectations in a variety of social scenarios. Instruction will include various techniques and how to incorporate them with concepts such as being part of a group, social perspective-taking, the friendship peer-a-mid, and other related skills. 

* This class is recommended for students who have
 age expected to advanced language skills.  We strongly recommend that students ages 11 or 12 take the Social Me class prior to enrolling in the Socializers if they have never been in a class that taught the Social ThinkingⓇ concepts.)

Thinkers (Recommended Ages 15-18)   SOLD OUT
October 13 - December 8, 2020 (No class on November 24th) 
This class meets virtually on Zoom 
Tuesdays from 5 to 6 PM

As high school students get older the dynamics interactions with peers and adults continue to change. Students in the class will be challenged to infer and explain social expectations in a variety of complex scenarios. Instruction will address being a part of a group, social perspective-taking, the friendship peer-a-mid, and other related skills. ​ The curriculum will be built around the students who enroll.

Virtual Social Cogntion Groups

Student Requirements: 
Students need solid language skills ​(
using language to learn, as opposed to still learning language)
Ability to participate in a virtual group setting 


Technology Requirements:
Functioning camera and audio
Quiet place to participate in the class
  • Our classes will be held via ZOOM once a week for 8 weeks.
  • Access to our password protected section will be granted after enrollment to obtain the class materials. 
  • Materials are divided into 2 sections (to be printed and to use as visuals). 
  • Classes open 10 minutes before scheduled for the students to talk and socialize.
  • Each class will consist of discussion and fun interactive games/activities to solidify concepts learned.
  • Parents/Guardians will have the opportunity to talk to the teacher and ask questions 5 minutes before class is scheduled to end. ​
